WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

As an Apprentice IT Support Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and service desk across the UK Group. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while studying, setting you on a path towards a successful career in IT support.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

During your apprenticeship, you will:

• Provide first-line IT support to nurseries and central support colleagues via the IT helpdesk.
• Support the company’s operational IT infrastructure under the guidance of the ICT Director and senior IT technician.
• Ensure nurseries have reliable Wi-Fi and communications, resolving any issues promptly.
• Maintain records of IT support requests and activities.
• Assist in routine network maintenance tasks and hardware/software installations.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to deliver IT projects efficiently.
• Adhere to health and safety policies related to IT equipment usage.
• Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards in all tasks.

HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED – WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?

• Manage helpdesk tickets efficiently, meeting internal SLAs.
• Build positive relationships with end users and suppliers.
• Maintain a well-functioning IT infrastructure across the business.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Stay informed about IT best practices and suggest improvements.

WHAT IT TAKES

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Basic understanding of Microsoft operating systems and networking protocols.
• Interest or some knowledge in IT support.
